LF Prevention Day Care

Since the opening of the LF Home for Children, it has become apparent that there is an urgent need in the local community for the provision of some form of day care facilities. Parents, relatives, and Nonthaburi residents, have been approaching the LF Home for Children on a daily basis to enquire whether we could assist them in looking after their toddlers during the day so that they can look for work, or hold down jobs. Extreme poverty, a childhood pregnancy, divorce, forced work, and alcoholism, can often sew the seeds for a disruptive family environment. Events can spiral, and quickly develop into neglect and child abuse. In response to the urgent requests, the LFF board has decided to act, and take what we see as preventative measure against child abuse, through adding a day care program to the shelter. The day care facilities will be provided for the smallest and neediest children in the area. Each application for assistance will be screened on a case by case basis. Our team will visit the children's houses, and through establishing dialogue with the children’s relatives, the LFF will search for a day care solution that will best serve these children’s need until they reach the age of 5 and can attend public school. The LF Prevention Day Care Center applies the Lotus Flower Blossom Program curriculum for the children in its care, and assures the children of a safe, appropriate, professional, and personal care and development at the center. Please support this program. For as little as CHF 45 per month, you can become a godparent of one of our Lotus Day Children.
